6th One-Day Flow Chemistry Workshop at Amar

We recently hosted our 6th One-Day Flow Chemistry Workshop, combining expert lectures with live demonstrations of our innovative flow processes and technologies.

The workshop featured several key demonstrations:

• Darzens Condensation in the MicroFLO™ reactor
• Claisen-Schmidt Condensation in the MACFLO™ reactor
• A telescopic synthesis of Sudan-1 Dye, where diazotization was carried out in the MicroFLO™ reactor and coupling in the SlurryFLO™ reactor.

These reactions demonstrated the superior slurry-handling capabilities of SlurryFLO™ and MACFLO™ - crucial for insoluble products that would clog traditional tubular or microreactors.

Dr. Vishwanath Dalvi delivered a foundational lecture on flow chemistry and demystifying scale-up using Amar’s flow reactor systems.

The second half of the session highlighted our downstream and process optimization technologies including:

• Continuous liquid-liquid separators (membrane and centrifugal types)
• Continuous liquid-liquid extractor
• A live demo of CogniFLO™, our closed-loop Bayesian optimization platform
• A showcase of our automated back-pressure regulator (BPR) system

Dr. Sanket Salgaonkar introduced - a powerful modeling and simulation software used to accelerate process development, scale-up, and optimization in chemical and pharmaceutical industries. He demonstrated modeling of the residence time distribution (RTD) for the CorFLO™ reactor using Dynochem.

Participants also toured our in-house reactor manufacturing facility, where both flow and pressure reactors are designed and built. The day concluded with Dr. Chandrakanth Gadipelly presenting real-world case studies developed in Amar flow systems and discussing chemistries available for tech transfer.
