Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Design Checker with a strong background in static equipment, high-pressure vessels, and mechanical components. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of experience in design checking, drafting, and reviewing mechanical engineering drawings, specifically for static equipment and pressure vessels. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, quality, and compliance of technical drawings, while managing a team of 7 to 8 design engineers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and check design drawings for static equipment, high-pressure vessels, and machine components to ensure they meet safety standards, technical specifications, and industry regulations.
  • Verify the accuracy of design calculations, as per ASME section and Div -1 material specifications, and tolerances for high-pressure vessels and other critical equipment.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to identify and resolve design discrepancies and improve the overall quality of the drawings.
  • Conduct design checks on mechanical components for functionality, durability, and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Lead and manage a team of 7 to 8 design engineers/drafters, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and in compliance with quality standards.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members on complex design issues, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure that all revisions to design documentation are accurately incorporated and filed, maintaining an up-to-date record.
  • Participate in design reviews and assist in refining designs for improved efficiency, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Keep current with industry codes, standards, and best practices related to static equipment, pressure vessels, and mechanical design.
  • Assist in the preparation of design reports and documentation for regulatory compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in design checking and drafting, specifically related to static equipment, high-pressure vessels, and machine components.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for drafting and reviewing mechanical designs.
    • Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, particularly in the design and operation of static equipment and high-pressure vessels.
    • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, PED, AS1210, etc.) for pressure vessels and static equipment.
    • Knowledge of material properties and selection, fabrication processes, and pressure vessel design calculations.
    • Experience in identifying and correcting errors in technical drawings and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Job Profile:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects.
  • Initiate and lead Internal / external kick-off meeting.
  • Prepare Project tracker via Gantt Chart to be shared to the Client as well as internal team members and ensure adherence to the timelines by coordinating with the concerned.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize potential risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
  • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Provide technical approvals for the bought-outs prepare technical datasheet for the bought outs.
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.
  • Detail Drawing Checking and BOM Checking.
  • Prepare documents like FDS, and Design Specifications and shall have to arrange quotations if necessary.
  • Provide Technical approvals for the bought-outs.
  • Prepare Technical datasheet for the bought-outs.
  • Adhere to compliance with regards to quality standards, safety norms and regulatory requirements in project management.
    • Strong understanding of pressure vessel codes (ASME Section VIII Div 1 & 2, PED, IBR, etc.)

    • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes (welding, fabrication, machining, testing).

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong project management and organizational abilities.

    • Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

    • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD / SolidWorks (reading drawings).

    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.

Education:

Preferred candidate profile

  • 2-4 years of experience in marketing, preferably in an industrial/B2B setting.
  • Exposure to chemical, pharmaceutical, or heavy engineering industries is advantageous.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator).
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms (SEO, Google Ads, Mailchimp).
  • Working knowledge of CRM and marketing automation tools.
