Flow Reactors

Continuous L-L Centrifugal Separator

  • Flow Rates: 10 mL/min to 500 mL/min
  • Pressure: Up to 100 bar
  • Temperature: UP to 200°C
  • Material: SS316, Hastelloy, etc.

The Continuous Liquid–Liquid Centrifugal Separator is a compact, high-performance device engineered to deliver rapid and reliable separation of two immiscible liquid phases. Designed for seamless integration into continuous flow systems, it enables consistent downstream separation, improved product purity, and uninterrupted process operation.

Built for modern chemical R&D and production, this separator efficiently handles challenging emulsions, small density differences, and reaction mixtures that are difficult to settle using gravity alone.

Working Principle

The feed mixture enters the high-speed rotor, where centrifugal force—hundreds of times greater than gravity—instantly separates the phases:

  • Heavier phase is driven outward toward the periphery.
  • Lighter phase flows toward the central axis.

Both phases are discharged continuously through dedicated outlets, delivering a stable, clean separation even at high throughputs. Adjustable internals allow fine tuning of cut points to match process requirements.

Key Features

Seamless Integration & Compact Design

  • Ideal for integration with microreactors, tubular flow reactors, CSTRs, and continuous extraction units.
  • Small footprint suitable for lab, pilot, and skid-mounted process plants.

Superior Separation Performance

  • Capable of resolving tight emulsions
  • Effective even with minimal density differences
  • Faster, cleaner phase disengagement than settlers or batch centrifuges

Robust Industrial Construction

  • High-speed precision rotor for vibration-free performance
  • Hermetically sealed design to prevent solvent loss and ensure operator safety

Fully Continuous Operation

  • No settling tanks
  • No batch interruptions
  • Ideal for long-duration continuous reactions and extractions
